I said I was back. And what a special session to start blogging with. Working with this family… It’s easy. It’s effortless. They get me. They like what I like. He has every reason to be mad at me at this very moment. Coco is currently under general anesthesia getting two of his front teeth removed. I am a horrible mother. And if dogs were able to read posts, this is my apology to you, Coco. I am sorry that you are going to have a permanent gap in your mouth and growling at people will never be the same. I love you and again, Mommy is sorry.

Messy wet hair, sticky humid car-seats, weird old men and crazy 40 mph winds… that’s how I’ll remember this day. Jael will be seventeen tomorrow and it’s because time is racing that I am happy to have these photos of her. Jael being silly in the rain while endlessly worrying about her hair getting in her face. Making weird noises and giving me freaky eyebrow looks. Talking about flames and Despicable Me. I love you. Now & forever.

She. Completes. Me. My “very many many things”. We sometimes call her broccoli or fetu. We talk to each other in weird dialects not native to our area. I’d like to say we were made from the same cloth but then again you would already presume that if I told you that we are cousins. My little princess. Anywho, we went out to play in the rain during hurricane Isaac and I took pictures of such rememberable event. Broccoli’s pictures, lots & lots of amusing phrases and comparisons are up next.

I am back! On to replying to emails and the ever so wonderful editing routine. [ The above pictures were taken while driving through hurricane Isaac. Internet, "I" was NOT driving. Just incase you were thinking.... whaaaat??? They are weird and quite simple, just how I would like to remember my little moment. ]

Dear Isaac,

I am scheduled to leave to Louisiana this Thursday and I’m on pins and needles because of your unwanted arrival. If only you would stick to one of your many projected-path forecasts… no, I’d consider that easy and we all know that I love when things are difficult. What if I explained/stressed/sang/ranted-in-a-high-pitch the importance of this trip? What if I told you that it’s a matter of rescheduling for months? What if I just really want to go to have a peanut-butter-&-jelly sandwich? And pecan pie? And potato soup? My friends are waiting for me over there by the bayou and I must get to them one way or another. Please don’t make me take extreme measures and go all Amy Adams on you. I would really appreciate if you carried on, sped up and headed towards… Texas because they haven’t seen a hurricane in quite some time. Leave LA and MS alone… poor things can’t deal with wind/water. Oh and if you must go through the path of pain, aka I-55, please make sure you stick to the right side or the interstate. Thank you bunches!

FOLKS! If all goes as planned, I will be away for Labor weekend. I’ll be back Tuesday, September 4th and will be answering calls/emails then. [That is, God willing and Isaac permitting.] Tootles!

There’s so many things that I want to say about this session. I’ve been quite the obsessed little girl looking them over and over wondering which ones to pick to blog. I love working with this family… and it all started here. Way back when I was starting to shoot birth sessions. Baby Luke was only my second birth session and I’d say that pretty much after that day, I was hooked. We continued to work together throughout the years and my love for these boys just keeps on multiplying. The joy I feel when photographing them translates through my lens into my heart like no other. As always Sam steels the show. There wasn’t a time that his eyes weren’t fixed on my camera. When it comes to shy kids and fear of being photographed, Sam has completely overcome his like a pro. Partly because his momma is another photography lover and I’m sure he’s seen a lens in front of his cute little face ever since the day he was born. And Luke, well I can voucher for that since I was the one taking his picture in the delivery room. The baby with buns of steel. (I always remember this when taking pictures of other babies. Haha. Oh Luke.) This time we tried something new. Getting dirty. Mud-ding. I’m sure that the next time, the boys will be a bit older and we will be soaking each other with water balloons, who knows. It’s always a pleasure and I can’t wait to do it again. Love you guys.
